Do Kenalog injections work immediately?

Great question! Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) is a corticosteroid we inject directly into areas of inflammation—like keloid or hypertrophic scars—to calm down that over‑active tissue. Here’s what to expect:

Immediate sensations: Right after your injection, you’ll feel the tiny pinch and often mild numbing from the lidocaine we mix in. That anesthetic gives you instant relief of any injection discomfort—but it isn’t the steroid working yet.

Onset of steroid action: The Kenalog itself needs a few days to really get to work. Most people begin to notice reduced redness, itching or “tightness” around Day 3, with visible softening and flattening of the scar appearing around 7–10 days post‑treatment.

Full effect & follow‑up: Maximum improvement often takes 2–3 weeks, and for deeper or more aggressive scars we recommend a series of injections spaced 4–6 weeks apart to gently dim that “scar signal” over time.

Think of Kenalog as a dimmer switch—not an on/off button. It turns down the inflammation gradually, so your skin has time to remodel and lay down smoother, softer tissue.

Are at-home filler kits safe?

At-home filler kits may seem convenient, but they pose significant risks and can lead to serious complications, including infection, scarring, and even permanent damage. Dermal fillers should only be administered by trained, licensed professionals who understand facial anatomy and proper injection techniques to ensure safety and optimal results. It's always best to consult with an experienced provider in a clinical setting to achieve the results you're looking for safely.

How long does an IV therapy session take?

Our IV therapy treatments typically take 30-60 minutes to administer, depending on which formula you select. Most patients are in and out within an hour!
For those interested in our NAD+ therapy, please note this is a longer commitment—our 500mg NAD+ infusion takes over two hours to complete properly.
If you're new to IV therapy, I recommend starting with one of our shorter treatments to see how your body responds. Every person's experience is unique, and we can always adjust future treatments based on your needs.
Check out our complete menu of IV therapy options at https://venyamed.com/iv-therapy/ to find the perfect formula for your wellness goals! Feel free to call with any questions before booking.

Does IV therapy really cure hangovers?

While IV therapy isn't a "cure" for hangovers, it can certainly help alleviate symptoms. Our Detox & Hydration therapy, for example, replenishes fluids and essential nutrients, which can reduce headaches, fatigue, and nausea commonly associated with hangovers. By quickly rehydrating your body and restoring balance, you may feel refreshed and recover faster than with traditional methods like water or over-the-counter remedies. Cheers to feeling your best!

What makes a HydraFacial different from a regular facial?

The HydraFacial uses patented technology with a vacuum-based device to simultaneously cleanse, extract, and infuse serums into your skin in one streamlined process.
Unlike traditional facials that rely on manual techniques, our HydraFacial delivers more consistent results with its three-step process of cleansing, extracting, and hydrating. The gentle suction provides deeper pore cleansing while immediately delivering beneficial ingredients - offering better results with no downtime.
Most patients love that HydraFacials are gentler than manual extractions but leave skin immediately glowing without the redness that sometimes follows traditional facials.
We can also customize your treatment with different boosters targeting specific concerns like fine lines, hyperpigmentation, or acne.

Is getting lip filler painful? Do you use numbing cream?

Yes, lip filler can be uncomfortable—these are needles in your lips after all! Most of my patients describe feeling a pinching sensation and pressure rather than severe pain. Everyone's pain tolerance differs, but lips are definitely more sensitive than other areas of the face.
I do offer numbing cream for all lip treatments and highly recommend using it. It takes about 15 minutes to kick in but makes a world of difference! Many of my fillers also contain lidocaine which helps numb as we go.
Don't hesitate to ask for numbing cream when you book. Your comfort matters to me!

What’s the recovery time after getting fillers?

Recovery time after dermal fillers is generally minimal, which is one of the reasons they’re so popular. Most patients can resume their normal activities immediately, but here’s a general timeline of what to expect:

First 24–48 Hours: You may have mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection sites. Applying ice and avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol, or blood-thinning medications can help reduce these effects.

3–7 Days: Any initial swelling or bruising typically subsides within a few days. Some patients see final results right away, while others (especially with hyaluronic acid fillers) may take up to 2 weeks for optimal results as the product integrates and swelling resolves.

1–2 Weeks: By this point, any minor side effects should be gone, and your results will look natural. If you have any lingering lumps or asymmetry (rare), we can easily adjust them at a follow-up visit.

Pro Tips for Faster Recovery:
✔ Avoid touching or massaging the treated area (unless instructed).
✔ Sleep slightly elevated the first night to minimize swelling.
✔ Skip intense workouts, saunas, or excessive sun exposure for 24–48 hours.

Most of my patients schedule filler appointments before a weekend or social event to allow a couple of recovery days, but many feel fine the same day! Let me know if you’d like details on a specific type of filler—I’m happy to help.

Can Kenalog be used for conditions other than acne?

Kenalog is pretty versatile—almost like the Swiss Army knife of corticosteroids. It’s also used to manage joint inflammation in conditions like arthritis, ease severe skin conditions, and even tackle certain allergic responses.

How do I get rid of acne scarring.

Microneedling is one of the most popular treatments for acne scars because it actually works. It uses tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries in your skin, which kickstarts your body’s natural healing process. This boosts collagen and elastin production, helping to smooth out scars over time.

What it’s good for: Rolling scars, boxcar scars, and uneven texture.
Most people need 3–6 sessions spaced about 4–6 weeks apart but it obviously depends upon the extent of the scarring.
You’ll start noticing smoother skin after a few sessions, and by the end of your treatment plan, the scars should look way less noticeable.
Pro tip : We often add serums like hyaluronic acid or growth factors during the treatment to enhance hydration and healing.

Chemical peels are another great option, especially if your scars are more superficial or you’re dealing with discoloration (like dark spots from old acne). The peel removes the top layers of damaged skin, revealing fresher, healthier skin underneath.

What it’s good for : Hyperpigmentation, shallow scars, and evening out skin tone.

After one session, your skin will look brighter and smoother. For deeper scars, a series of peels can make a big difference.
Pro tip : Always follow up with sunscreen—your skin will be more sensitive to the sun after a peel.

Combining Treatments
If you want to go all-in, combining microneedling and chemical peels can give you even better results.

Does Botox hurt, or is it just a little pinch?

Most patients describe the injection sensation as a brief pinch or mild pressure—hardly a “scream‐worthy” pain. We often use fine needles and sometimes a topical anesthetic to keep things comfortable.

Are fillers safe for someone who’s never had them before?

Fillers are very safe for first-timers when administered by an experienced professional. I understand trying something new can feel intimidating, but dermal fillers have been used effectively for years to enhance natural beauty.

During your consultation, we’ll discuss your goals, assess your facial anatomy, and address any concerns to ensure you’re comfortable. Hyaluronic acid fillers, the most common type, are made from a substance naturally found in your body, so the risk of allergic reaction is very low.

While side effects like swelling, bruising, or tenderness can occur, they’re usually mild and temporary. I recommend starting conservatively—it’s a great way to ease into the process and see how you like the results.

Is Sculptra effective for deep wrinkles compared to fillers?

Sculptra works differently than fillers. You will not get that immediate volume like traditional fillers, it improves the skin’s structure over time, which can be very effective for adding volume and address deep, structural wrinkles.

Can fillers be dissolved if I don’t like the results

I understand that sometimes the results of filler treatments might not be exactly what you hoped for. The good news is that if you’re not loving your new look, many hyaluronic acid fillers can indeed be reversed with an enzyme called hyaluronidase—think of it as your very own 'undo' button. For non-hyaluronic fillers, though, we might have to get a bit more creative with our approach.

How long does Botox really last before I need a touch‑up?

The longevity of Botox can vary a bit from person to person, but generally speaking, you can expect it to last about 3 to 4 months before you might start noticing the effects wearing off.

Now, here’s the thing—everyone’s body processes Botox a little differently. Factors like your metabolism, how active those treated muscles are (like if you’re super expressive in certain areas), and even your overall skin health can all play a role in how long it lasts. Some people find that with consistent treatments over time, their results seem to last a bit longer because the muscles become "trained" to relax more.

That said, I always recommend coming in for a follow-up around the 3-month mark so we can assess how things are looking and make sure you’re still happy with your results. If you notice any early signs of movement returning before then, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to keep you feeling confident and refreshed!
